The Team
Stew Chaney
Broadcast Director
Stew started Plus 4 Audio in September 2001, moving forward from a very successful career as an in-house, then freelance sound engineer and designer. He decided to use his 20+ years of experience to offer a new approach and equipment choice to the live broadcast sector.
After the first few years of 24 hour days and the usual pain of starting your own business, things fell into place with the right people and clients. Stew is now able to concentrate on continuing the high quality of service and growing the company’s business and equipment base.

Mark Ballard
Operations Manager
Mark has been with Plus 4 pretty much since the beginning, having decided, after 15 years, he had done enough touring and would like his bed to stop doing 50mph.
As Director of Operations at Plus 4 he gets to oversee most of the shows and hopefully pass on a bit of useful information to the youth squad.

Tom Button
Head of Corporate Events
Tom began his career operating West End musicals before moving into the world of Corporate Events, firstly as a sound designer/engineer, before becoming a production manager and producer.
With this wealth of experience gained from a wide variety of events, coupled with his passion for the industry, Tom brings knowledge, creativity and solutions to all the shows he oversees. He also has a love of fly fishing, but that may not be relevant!
Colin Partridge
Technical Guru
Colin has over 40 years experience in the audio industry, from touring with many of the world’s greatest opera singers to working on some of the longest running uk tv shows.
Ever since he was abducted by aliens 10 years ago he now fills multiple roles including system design, repairs, 3d printing, 3d cad design, lectern tech, and the list goes on…..
Pete Lambert
Warehouse / Logistics Manager
Pete has 40+ years’ experience in the event industry and is in charge of our busy warehouse and transport logistics, making sure equipment transfers are where they need to be, at the right time.
He has multiple hats that we normally ask him to wear all at the same time, including asset management and the scheduling of all equipment servicing and maintenance. He’s happiest when he has a cup of tea in hand.
Joel Manning
Prep Manager
Joel has worked within the music/events industry for the past 10 years. He has a passion for creating great production experiences for all. Having started out as an audio engineer and stepping up to production management, Joel now leads our team in the warehouse, overseeing the testing and preparation of equipment for every event.
When he’s not in our warehouse Joel loves playing his many instruments in whatever band he can find!
Jacob Skinner
Senior Engineer
Jacob “Bobble” joined Plus 4 in 2015 on a one-year placement from the University of Surrey while studying for his Physics degree. While finishing his final year, he continued freelancing with Plus 4 on a wide range of shows before returning full-time as an engineer.
Now a familiar and trusted face to many of our biggest clients, Jacob regularly leads the technical delivery of some of our largest and most complex shows. And despite very recently becoming a dad for the first time, the lack of sleep doesn’t seem to have taken the edge off his sense of humour… yet!
