Plus 4 Audio was founded in 2001 with the aim of providing compact, high quality PA and foldback systems for the television and music industries. We now supply to a large proportion of the Music and Light Entertainment shows on television and in the live arena.
We work with clients including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Fountain Studios, Pinewood Studios and Elstree Studios, as well as many OB companies, theatrical producers, event organisers and major record labels.
During the pandemic, we continued to work with TV, helping to adapt shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here and Sports Personality of the Year to keep viewers entertained in spite of the restrictions. We see our role as a trusted, collaborative support service, providing expert advice where it’s needed, creative thinking where it’s invited and solid, reliable sound solutions in every instance.
Driven by a team of worldly sound engineers, designers and logisticians, with extensive experience from working on the road and in the studio, the company has grown with the industry over the last 20 years, building up a deep understanding of the needs of producers, performers and technicians in all fields of entertainment and live events.
From our base in Chessington, Surrey, we go out on location, catering for all live audio requirements, from simple PA set-ups to full arena and multiple stage show systems, artist foldback, radio mic and in-ear monitor systems, multi-track recording and in house remix/dubbing facilities in stereo or 5.1 surround.
Our equipment base includes the latest digital consoles, speaker systems, microphones, radios, communications systems and accessories available to the professional market and we are constantly investing to make sure we are up to date with our clients’ requirements.
Staying ahead of the curve has always been our mantra and as the entertainment world prepares to burst back into life, we are ready and excited to play our part.

Stew started Plus 4 Audio in September 2001, moving forward from a very successful career as an in-house, then freelance sound engineer and designer. He decided to use his 20+ years of experience to offer a new approach and equipment choice to the live broadcast sector. After the first few years of 24 hour days and the usual pain of starting your own business, things fell into place with the right people and clients. Stew is now able to concentrate on continuing the high quality of service and growing the company’s business and equipment base.

Mark has been with Plus 4 pretty much since the beginning, having decided, after 15 years, he had done enough touring and would like his bed to stop doing 50mph. As Director of Operations at Plus 4 he gets to oversee most of the shows and hopefully pass on a bit of useful information to the youth squad.

Pete has 40+ years’ experience in the event industry and is in charge of transport logistics, making sure everything comes in and goes out of our busy warehouse on time. He has multiple hats that we normally ask him to wear all at the same time, including the servicing and maintenance scheduling of all the equipment.

Tom has 20+ years’ experience in the world of Corporate Entertainment, firstly as a Sound Designer/Engineer, before becoming a Production Manager/Producer. With this wealth of experience gained from a wide variety of events, coupled with his passion for the industry, Tom brings knowledge, creativity and solutions to all the shows he oversees. He also has a love of fly fishing, but that may not be relevant!
